Admission

Eligibility for Admission to First Semester:
  • Pass in HSC examination conducted by BSE, Odisha/ 10th standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha.
  • Must have secured at least 35 % marks in aggregate, securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination with English, Math & Science subjects.
  • Minimum age limit (except mining and drilling Engg.)-  14 years.
  •  No upper age limit.
Eligibility for Admission to Third Semester (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering/Technology:
  • Pass in +2 Science Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination with PCM / +2 Vocational (2 years course) in any Engineering Trades /2 years ITI in Engineering Trade/COE Trade with pass in HSC examination conducted by BSE, Odisha/ 10th standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha, securing 30% marks in each subject at the qualifying examination.
  • Minimum age limit(except Mining and Drilling Engg.)- 14 years
  • No upper age limit prescribed for this course.
Reservation:

As per the directives of government, the seats are reserved for the candidates of Odisha state only and the reservation is as follows:

For ST 22.5%
For Children of Green Card Holder 5%
For Children/wards of Ex-Servicemen 2%
For Physically Challenged 3%
For women candidates of all co-ed polytechnics 30%
For sports candidates 0.5%
Candidates passing NCC (A, B and C Certificate examination) 1%

Admission under Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme:

5 % supernumerary seats shall be available only to such Course(s) in an institution, where a minimum of 50% of the seats in Approved Intake are filled up in the last Academic year.

Sons and daughters of parents whose annual income is less than Rupees 8.0 Lakh or the amount from all sources fixed by Govt. shall only be eligible for seats under this scheme.

The waiver is limited to the Tuition Fee as notified by Government.

This scheme is only for ā€˜Sā€™ Domicile candidates who are permanent residents of Odisha

ECONOMICALLY WEAKER SECTION (EWS) quota for admission in technical institutions:

In accordance with SD&TE Department Notification No. 3594 dtd.29.07.2019, 10% EWS quota would made operational from the academic session 2020-21 without disturbing the existing reservation percentage being followed in these institutions. Persons not covered under the existing scheme of reservations for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and whose family has gross annual income below Rs.8 Lakh are identified as EWS. The amount of admission fees and part admission fees to be deposited by such candidates shall be in line with TFW applicants. Such applicants have to produce Income & Asset Certificate as per Form-IX.
